HOME / MY JOURNEY
My Journey
A life shaped
by love.
The people, the everyday moments, and the choices that helped me become who I am.
FIVE MEMORIES, STILL WITH ME ↓

A life touched by love at every turn

Mom, whose smile taught me strength.
01 / AGE FIVE
The strength
in her smile.
When I was five, Mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. Through ten rounds of chemotherapy and losing her hair, she still came home with a smile. She told me my laughter gave her strength. Looking back, I realize how much of mine came from her.

02 / PRIMARY SCHOOL
Love in the
little things.
During my six years of primary school in Hong Kong, Mom’s work kept her busy, so Dad took charge of our mornings. He’d coax me out of bed, brush my hair, and straighten my school tie. For six years, every school day began with his care.

03 / A CHOICE OF MY OWN
Learning to
take the first step.
When Dad was diagnosed with cancer, Mom traveled with him to Hong Kong. COVID restrictions kept us apart for six months while I stayed in Shenzhen. During that time, I decided to apply to Shenzhen College of International Education. I prepared for the entrance exam on my own—and got in.

04 / REMEMBERING DAD
“Dad,
I can do this.”
After Dad passed away, Mom found it difficult to talk about him. I missed him deeply, and grew more grateful for the years we’d shared. I like to think he’s still watching over me. When I work toward something that matters to me, I wish I could tell him: “Dad, I can do this.”

Fifteen, with my head held high.
05 / AGE FIFTEEN
Making room
for joy.
In this cheerleading photo, I’m fifteen, smiling with my head held high. It had been two years since Dad passed away. I still missed him, but I was finding moments of joy—with my team, on stage, and in the life I wished I could share with him.
